Clear Shatter Protection Film 175µm – Interior Installation

This clear shatter protection film with 175µm thickness offers a significantly higher level of protection than the 100µm variant. The greater film thickness increases the resistance of the glass against pressure, impact and blows. With 93 % light transmission, the film remains virtually invisible on the glass. Ideal for schools, public buildings and commercial premises with increased safety requirements.

Shatter Protection – Why 175µm?

The 175µm film provides greater fragment retention than the 100µm variant thanks to its increased thickness. In the event of glass breakage, the tough, elastic polyester film holds the fragments together even more effectively. The film is tested to EN 12600 (DIN 52337) and is particularly suitable where there is an increased risk of glass breakage – such as large-area glazing, stairwells or high-traffic areas.

Suitable Glazing Types

This film is suitable for interior installation on the following glass types:

• Single glazing
• Tinted single glazing
• Insulating glazing (double glazing)
• Low-E glass
• Tinted low-E glass
• Laminated glass / safety glass

Installation

The film is applied from the interior side onto clean, smooth glass. Thanks to the self-adhesive backing, installation is completed in just a few steps – instructions and an installation kit are included. For permanent shatter protection, the film should cover the entire glass surface and extend beneath the window frame or seal.

Tip: The 175µm film is slightly stiffer than the 100µm variant. We recommend unrolling the film and leaving it flat before installation to make handling easier.
