SCREENEX is a transparent architectural film for glass surfaces based on a completely novel technology. The film is installed on the interior side of glass facades and exclusively darkens the light emitted by LED or LCD monitors. Electric light and daylight pass through the film unimpeded. Anyone outside the room sees only a black screen – sensitive data can therefore be displayed within the room without any concern.
Features at a Glance
- Blacks out monitor light only – LED/LCD screens appear black from outside
- Transparent to daylight – light-filled rooms remain bright and open
- 100% data privacy – all information displayed on screen is invisible from outside
- Interior glass installation – film is applied to the room-facing side of the glass
- Compatible with decorative films – the exterior side can be customised individually
- 2-year warranty from the date of installation
The Problem: Transparency vs. Confidentiality
The modern workplace relies on open, light-filled spaces with glass walls and facades. At the same time, it is essential to safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive data during meetings, workshops and at the workstation. Conventional solutions such as frosted glass, privacy films, curtains, blinds or roller shutters may obstruct the view, but they do not provide an open, light-transmitting work environment.
The Solution: SCREENEX
SCREENEX exclusively darkens the polarised light from LED and LCD monitors, while allowing electric light and daylight to pass through freely. Open architecture, transparency and data privacy are therefore achievable all at once.
Typical Applications:
- Meeting rooms with glass walls – confidential presentations and meetings
- Offices & open-plan spaces – protection of sensitive screen data behind glass partitions
- Banks & financial advisory – discretion for account details and transactions
- Law firms & legal consultancies – safeguarding client information behind glass facades
- Medical practices & hospitals – GDPR-compliant protection of patient data
Orientation Test Before Installation
The correct orientation of the film must be determined before installation. View the room to be protected from the outside and test the two possible orientations. The correct direction varies depending on the display type (LED, LCD). We therefore always recommend a test installation.
Important: SCREENEX does not work with projectors or plasma screens.
Installation
The film is installed on the interior side of the glass surface on clean, smooth glass. Use a pH-neutral soap (e.g. baby shampoo) as your cleaning agent. The use of "Film On" is not recommended.
Installation Tips:
- Pre-cut the film on a cutting table – the edges are very sharp
- Dry the edges thoroughly after installation to prevent slipping
- For butt-to-butt installation, maintain at least a 2 mm gap between film sections
- Always store the film on the roll to prevent tunnelling
After installation, the exterior side of the glass facade can be customised with decorative films, logos or company lettering as desired.
Care
Carry out the first cleaning no earlier than one week after installation. Use a soft cloth or squeegee with a pH-neutral cleaning agent. Always clean lengthwise – never across the film edges. Avoid abrasive cleaners, sharp objects and dry wiping.
Warranty
SCREENEX offers a 2-year warranty from the date of installation. To make a claim, the warranty certificate must be submitted together with photographs of the installation.
